I consider myself a person who just loves riding a bicycle. Here, there, or anywhere I feel it is truly a great way to not only get somewhere, but also to become a member of the community. I love being a part of the Hagerty cycling team because it is a supportive community of upstanding citizens. No matter where I am or what I am doing, my teammates are willing to help or offer encouragement to ensure I am as successful as I can be.
My proudest moment has been the last two years of four season bicycle commuting. Giving up my daily driver car (as a bona-fide car guy) was a less of a step and more of a leap. It’s been a great experience to ride my bicycle more and enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan during all weather.
I am an avid “car guy” and am currently the proud owner of a 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbrier. It’s a beast of a classic van that I have setup for bike hauling and camping, but only in the nice weather. I am planning to use the van to extend a race trips to even more of an adventure by camping the night before the race at events farther than an hour’s drive.
