In our Men's Pro/Elite 62 Mile division we saw Craig Webb finish in the top 10. Craig chose to race on his mountain bike (the only guy in...
It's Spring time and Team Hagerty has been gearing up for the 2009 cycling season. The summer calendar is full of amazing road cycling events and the team has been training over the winter to be ready to let the hammer drop when the time comes. Here is a peek at what some of us have been doing in the off season to keep our fitness in tip top shape.

Thanks to the good folks at the Fitness Factor the team has had the opportunity to train together once a week on indoor trainers. Each week a different team member takes a turn teaching the class, and we have had some great training sessions indoors and safely tucked away from the elements.

Some of the team members have been riding outdoors right through the winter. All you need are some knobbie tires, warm gloves, booties, a shell, multiple layers of wicking clothes, a full face mask, and off you go.

Cold winter days won't keep these guys inside. Norm and Hal ride all winter long on their cyclocross bikes.

For a nice mid winter break how about the Hell Yes sprints. Team Hagerty participated in this high intensity, good time event, and really cleaned up. Thanks to the good folks over at the Fixed Gear Gallery for setting up this fun mid winter break. Pictured above, Jason Whittaker came in true 1970's cycling style. Danielle Rearick and Laura Webb engage in a little pre-sprint trash talk.

Many team members keep their fitness level up by cross country skiing through the winter season. Pictured above is Cliff Onthank cranking through the corners at the warehouse district Vasa sprints.

How about a little pre-season racing? Pictured here is Johanna Schmidt racing in stage 3 of the Tucson Bicycle Classic. This was her 1st cat 1/2 race and she was holding her own against some big names.... like the three time XTERRA world champion and U23 MTB national champion just to name a few.

Other team members have been lucky enough to travel with their bikes and actually go to a warm climate and do some winter training. A cycling jersey and shorts are all that is required. Leave your balaclava at home and just put on some miles.

None of the team members are strangers to the trainer and there is no better way to train than with a partner. Ty and Carter Schmidt put on some indoor miles while the snow falls outside.
